London 2011!

Last weekend was probably one of the best weekends ever since I got to UK. I went down to London and spent the weekend there with good company. Despite the long hours in the train from Stoke-on-Trent to London, not to mention having to stand throughout the journey, well halfway throughout the journey, it was all good because we got to touched down to London together, got everything sorted out on that Friday. Saturday and Sunday was just pure rediscovering the places I used to go to whilst spending the remaining weekend with good friends.

Naj and Dal told me how comfortable I looked in Brunei Hall, wearing the same old sweater I used to back then. I completely agree, it felt a bit like home in London. I got my kebab-fix from Beirut Express, tried the new halal KFC, caught up with such wonderful family friends and ate the never-ending Brunei Hall food. My friends are starting to appreciate Brunei Hall food after I told them about how it was for me in Keele. lol.

On the way back however was pure torture because we didn't manage to get seats and therefore had to stand for three hours in the train. But we, Dayat, Tay and I went through with it without grumbling, the only thing grumbling was our stomach that influenced the decision to grab a bite to eat at a Halal fastfood chain in Hanley, the only fastfood restaurant there is. Therefore it was all good, we've still got the energy to have a decent lively conversation over food! With laughter even, especially from Tay!! :D After our satisfying meal, we called it a night and went back to our respective halls. London was awesome and I look forward to spending my days there in a few weeks' time after all assignment deadlines are met.

Cautious.

As you grow, you get to experience. You are fonder of the things that surrounds you.
The people you meet, the people you greet, the people you say goodbye to.
Either way, we all have to be cautious.

My mom once told me, we all may have the same hair color, skin color, fingernail color (although its not just about colors) but our hearts are not all the same. We may be pumping blood together, but some pump at different intervals. Therefore, a rule of thumb to myself especially, is to always stay cautious of your surroundings.

Sorry Radiator.

Oh radiator, when I first saw you, deep inside I went "psh, I'm from Brunei, I do not need you to keep me warm."

I continued on saying, "I really like the cold, and I really don't need you to keep me warm."

I quickly turned the radiator off, never looking at it again, despising the fact that it was there as if it was a ridiculous inanimate object.

That was back in Hawthorns Hall, where it was still sunny. Now that I'm in Barnes Hall, being in the ground floor and temperature less than 10 degrees, the cold is getting to me.

The worse part is that my radiator here up in Barnes is failing me. It hasn't been on and I know one day, I'll be as still as a Popsicle stick. How I wish I hadn't dissed the radiator's existence. After all, it is invented for a reason.

Was told by my seniors that the temperature may go super down to negative, I repeat NEGATIVE 19 degrees during the winter :/

I need my mommy's embrace!

Campus life.

This is a place where the shops close at six p.m on weekdays and as early as four p.m on a Sunday.

This is a place where the streets are dark and hollowly by the time you step outside after seven p.m.

An area filled with beautiful trees and amazing landmarks to see.

Where the people are helpful and friendly as can be.

A place I once cried upon my arrival but grew to love after my first week here.

A place where I appreciate the fact that the campus is the largest in the UK.

A place you can never call home but on second thought, enough to feel homey in.

A place where walking more than 5km won't tire you out.

A place where there isn't a reason to be distracted.

A place where striving for success is embodied.

I kinda like this place.

This place is called Keele situated at Newcastle under Lyme, it's not bad and really good for a change.
